about

going through some things recently i found a random cd with the words ‘winter cavalry’ scrawled across it.

on playing it i re-discovered some old, long forgotten recordings that me and my friend Andy (aka newfoundland) made around the winter of 2010.

they are rough and raw but listening took me right back to those times, huddled in his damp, cold cellar drinking beer and writing and recording on his small 4 track recorder.

we’d both bring a little idea, a spark of a song and then proceed to improvise and play along with whatever lay around, both trying to keep it all going as best we can, with varying success. sometimes we overdubbed bass and drums and other bits, if we had time.

we're sharing these songs as they are like a little time capsule for us, bringing back so many beautiful, rich, happy memories. like voices from the past, talking to us now, reminding us of more simpler times.

and so here they are... un-polished and un-listened to (but not un-loved) for about 10 years.

we hope you enjoy them and their homespun charm.
