Born in Caracas (Venezuela), Yani Martinelli has lived in Madrid since 1998.

Her musical career spans many years, from playing drums in garage/powerpop band The Seasongs and later forming her sunshine pop band Navyblue.

Currently Yani plays solo and records at home, in her bedroom. With a musical style that shifts between dream pop, psychedelia, sunshine folk or bedroom pop, Yani has collaborated with the likes of The High Llamas, Ducktails and Scott Bookman.

Yani is currently a music teacher to young children and also runs a cat shelter with her mother.
